Associate

Michael Cattani joins the firm as an Associate, bringing a high-stakes competitive edge and a unique “insider” perspective to the advocacy of the injured. A 2023 graduate of New York Law School, Mr. Cattani’s legal foundation was built on the same tenacity he displayed as a collegiate athlete—a drive he further refined as a standout member of the Sports Law Society. This passion for advocacy began at Adelphi University, where he graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management, blending academic excellence with a deep understanding of the competitive arena.
What truly sets Mr. Cattani apart is his experience “on the other side” of the negotiating table. Having spent his early career as an insurance defense attorney, he possesses an intimate, firsthand understanding of the tactics insurance carriers use to minimize or deny claims. He knows exactly how adjusters evaluate risk, how they calculate settlements, and where their “unbending” rules can be challenged. Today, he leverages that playbook to benefit the injured, effectively “flipping the script” to anticipate defense moves before they even happen.
Mr. Cattani has successfully navigated a wide spectrum of complex litigation, including construction accidents, premises liability, motor vehicle accidents, wrongful death, and property damage. He transitioned to representing the injured with a clear mission: to fight for people, not corporations. For Mr. Cattani, a case is never just a “file”—it represents a client’s life and their path to recovery. By combining the relentless drive of a collegiate athlete with the tactical knowledge of a former defense insider, he provides a level of advocacy that is both strategically superior and aggressively focused on results.
Mr. Cattani is admitted to practice in all State Courts of New York, as well as the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.
